Writers' Day 2024 at the London Literature Festival

Our fourth Writers' Day will take place on Sunday 27 October from 11am-4pm in the Southbank Centre's Queen Elizabeth Hall Purcell Room. This is a free event and there is no need to book in advance.

The day will include:

11am-12pm - Meet the Writing Organisations: Hear what leading writing development agencies can offer you, including Creative Future, Curtis Brown Creative, Faber Academy, Poetry School, Writers & Artists and The Writing Coach.

12:30-1:30pm - From Page to Publication: four Creative Future Writers’ Award winners on their journeys as underrepresented writers to becoming published writers. Featuring novelists Iqbal Hussain and Tom Newlands and poets Jem Henderson and Natalie Linh Bolderston.

1:45-2:45pm - Getting your Poetry Published, featuring Amy Acre (Bad Betty Press), Fahad Al Amoudi (Penguin Press) Stuart Bartholomew (Verve Poetry Press) and Jane Commane (Nine Arches Press). Hosted by Isy Mead, Artistic Director, Poetry School.

3-4pm - Meet the Agents, giving you insider knowledge on acquiring representation and demystifying the publishing process. With Clara Foster (Aevitas), Bruno Onuki Reynell (New River Agency) and Kerry-Ann Bentley (Good Literary Agency). Hosted by Salma Begum, CF Board member and agent at Greyhound Literary.

Leading literary organisations and publishers will also have stalls in the Queen Elizabeth Hall Foyer, with books, leaflets and representatives on hand. Come and have a chat with Creative Future, Writers & Artists, Faber Academy, Curtis Brown Creative, Poetry School, The Writing Coach, Poetry Society and poetry publishers Bad Betty, Verve Poetry Press.
