About the course
A poetry series that asks how we can refocus and reexamine ‘heartbreak’ through a ‘queer lens’.
Jess will introduce ideas relating to romantic separation, grief, survival and ecosystems of friendship, and together as a group, we’ll explore the poetics of ‘the heart’. This series of workshops will focus on developing your technique and expanding your poetry practice in the spirit of sharing, support and collectivity. It will focus on widening your practice through play and experimentation and introduce a broad range of contemporary poetry. It will also help you develop your draft poems/writing through a combination of collaborative provocations, prompts, practical exercises, and in-depth discussion. It’s a chance to generate new material & to give feedback on each other’s heartstuff.
Whether you’re new to poetry, emerging or a romantic old timer, this might be the course for you.
